Data science is about looking at complex, unstructured data sets and revealing the patterns hidden within them — patterns that have enormous value to all kinds of organizations. Businesses use big data to forecast consumer behavior; governments use it to determine spending; nonprofits use it to see where their help is most needed.
To interpret that data — to make sense of all that information — you need the proper tools. You also need people who know how to use them.
At Monroe University’s King Graduate School, our online Master of Science in Data Science will prepare you to meet that need — and with remote learning, you’ll be able to do it all on a schedule that works with your busy life.
Why an Online Major in Data Science?
According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, data scientist jobs will grow at a rate of 36% over the next few years, more than seven times the average rate of growth for all occupations. Right now, employers can’t find enough skilled data scientists to fill the positions they already have.
For the foreseeable future, a Master’s Degree in Data Science will be a huge advantage in the job market. It’s not just an abundance of jobs that makes data science such an attractive career. It’s the job satisfaction and earning potential of data science positions that make them some of the most desirable in the nation.
