Why an Online Major in Sports Management?
We know you may have other responsibilities. Like many of our students, you may already have a job. You may also have a family that relies on you. That’s why we offer online learning options at the School of Business and Accounting: so that your responsibilities in the present don’t have to stand in the way of your future.
In the sports industry, that future is very bright. In the next few years, the global sports market is poised to grow by as much as 5%, with a revenue increase of more than 100 billion dollars worldwide.
The U.S. alone has created a new, billion-dollar sports market over the past few years, now that student athletes are allowed to profit from the use of their name, image, and likeness (NIL). It’s one of the reasons sports sponsorship in North America is projected to grow by a staggering 73% by the end of the decade.
Overall, jobs in sports and entertainment could grow by up to 13% in that same timespan — more than twice the average for all occupations in America. That includes careers like promotions and marketing managers (projected to grow by 10%), convention and event planners (18%), and coaches and scouts (20%).
In the sports world, what happens off the field can be just as exciting as what happens on it. With an online Sports Management Bachelor’s Degree, you can learn what it takes to be a part of it on a schedule that works with your busy life.
