Curriculum
As a Business Administration major, you’ll learn from professors who have made their mark in the business world. The professional faculty at the School of Business and Accounting are senior business executives, marketing managers, human resource professionals, project managers, and more. The lessons they’ve learned in the business world will be your lessons in the classroom.
Through a combination of theory and practical, project-based learning, you’ll learn about:
- Reading and generating financial reports
- Evaluating and developing budgets
- Project management
- Principles of marketing
- Macroeconomics
Your instructors will help you develop the critical, analytical, and communication skills that will help you to not only think outside the box, but set your ideas in motion. How Long Does It Take to Get an Associate Degree in Business Administration?
The AAS in Business Administration is designed to be completed in four (4) semesters. Full-time, that’s less than a year and a half on Monroe’s three (3)-semester academic calendar.
AAS Business Administration Requirements:
60 total credits
- 18 credits of major-related courses
- 12 credits of major-area component courses
- 30 credits of general education and related courses
The School of Business and Accounting also offers both online and hybrid programs for students who need the flexibility of remote learning options.

Marketing Foundations
Marketing isn’t what it used to be. It’s more. Innovations in social media and other high-tech marketing tools have changed the way businesses develop marketing strategies in the 21st century. In this course, Business Administration students will learn to use both digital and traditional marketing to help build profitable customer relationships. The course will also cover consumer exchange behavior (creating value for customers and capturing value in return), product development, sales promotion strategy, and more.
Admission Requirements
Applicants to the Business Administration program must submit:
- Either a high school graduation credential or high school equivalency diploma, or a recognized college associate degree or higher as listed in the transfer admissions policy.
- A completed application for admission, as well as a personal statement or essay.
Applicants also participate in a pre-admission interview.
