All General Business students begin with a core curriculum that gives you a firm foundation in the principles and practices of business. Your business courses will cover:
- Business ethics
- Principles of management
- Marketing foundations
- Economics
You’ll also take general education courses in math, psychology, and oral and written communication that will broaden both your horizons and your skill set.
As you fulfill those requirements, you’ll be able to customize your education with electives in a specialization of your choice. You can choose from among the following concentrations:

How Long Does It Take to Get a Bachelor’s Degree in General Business?
The BBA in General Business is an eight (8)-semester program. Full-time students can complete their degree in under three (3) years.

- 54 credits of major-related courses
- 66 credits of general education and related courses

Business Ethics
Consumerism, civil rights, technological changes, the environment: all of these issues affect how business is done in the global marketplace, and how business is done affects all of them in turn. The delivery of products and services can dictate the well-being of a region’s economy, ecology, and its people. It’s an enormous responsibility. In this course, General Business students will learn how to construct a contemporary conceptual framework for business ethics, examine the corporation’s role in society, moral management, marketplace and workplace issues, and more.
Admission Requirements
Applicants to the General Business program must submit:
- Either a high school graduation credential or high school equivalency diploma, or a recognized college associate degree or higher as listed in the transfer admissions policy.
- A completed application for admission, as well as a personal statement or essay.
Applicants may also participate in an optional pre-admission interview.
