Curriculum
At CINY, you’ll study with professionals who have honed their skills in New York City, one of the world’s greatest cities for dining, hospitality, and tourism.** It’s also the place where you’ll hone yours, with hands-on learning experiences you won’t find anywhere else.
You’ll become well-versed in every sector of the hospitality industry, including:

You’ll also learn how to build and maintain customer relationships, practice sound financial management techniques, and provide an excellent customer experience in every hospitality setting. You’ll also get to see those techniques in action because every student is required to complete a hospitality management internship before graduation.

How Long Does It Take to Get an Associate Degree in Hospitality Management?
You can complete your AAS in Hospitality Management in just four (4) semesters on campus — less than a year and a half on our three-semester academic calendar.
Hospitality Management Degree Requirements:
60 total credits
- 30 credits of major-related courses
- 30 credits of general education and related courses

Dining Room Management
From hotels to restaurants to event catering, fine service is about more than formality. It's about making each and every customer feel cared for. It’s about making them feel special. In this course, Hospitality Management majors will learn the finer points behind basic table settings, buffet service, and wine and beverage service. Students will also become well-versed in the fundamentals of reservation systems, point of sale systems, traffic flow, and event timing.
Admission Requirements
Candidates interested in a Hospitality Management Associate Degree must meet the following general admissions requirements:
- Applicants must possess either a high school graduation credential or high school equivalency diploma, or a recognized college associate degree or higher as listed in the transfer admissions policy.
- Applicants must also submit a completed application for admission, as well as a personal statement or essay.
Applicants also participate in a pre-admission interview.
