If you have earned the equivalent of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited non-U.S. medical school, and you’re looking for a nursing program in the U.S., the IMG option offers the perfect opportunity. Monroe’s bachelor of science degree in nursing will prepare you for a career as a registered nurse.
- An accelerated program with a focus on core nursing courses
- Finish in six semesters (two academic years)

- Upon program completion, eligible to sit for NCLEX-RN licensing exam

The Curriculum
Lectures are held on Tuesday and Thursday evenings, with clinicals during the day on Friday and Saturday. An evaluation of your transcript may require you to take up to nine (9) credits of English and three (3) credits of math. The program is designed to be completed within two academic years.
Trends in Professional Nursing
This course introduces students to the trends of social, political, legal, economic, ideological, cultural, and spiritual influences on decision-making in the health care delivery system. Identification of theories of power, influence, empowerment, leadership, change, and communication provides students with a background to assume a position of professional self-advocate and client advocate with a sense of professional responsibility and accountability.

A nursing admissions advisor will guide each applicant through the required steps:

- Submit the required documents
The School of Nursing Admissions Committee will evaluate the submitted application and documents and provide timely notice of its decision. Those who are accepted will complete the financial aid process and are subject to a background check and a physical exam.
