Lakeisha Bryan
“My professors challenged me and gave me the opportunity to experience the full breadth of what’s possible.”
Today, Lakeisha Bryan, CPA, is a tax associate at KPMG in Atlanta, GA. She received a bachelor’s degree in public accounting from Monroe in 2016. While at Monroe, Lakeisha held two internships, one at Deloitte and the other at ABC Television, which both led to full-time offers before graduation. She was also a member of ALPFA.org (Association of Latino Professionals for America).
Originally from Jamaica, Lakeisha moved to NYC and joined the Army, where she was stationed in Hawaii and working as a supply clerk. After serving in the military for four years, Lakeisha enrolled at Monroe to study accounting. Although she always knew she wanted to be an accountant, she was unsure of the area she wanted to pursue. She credits her professors for helping her network and “test the waters” at various conferences and job fairs to explore different areas of accounting and see what was possible.
“The professors challenged me and gave me the opportunity to experience the full breadth of what’s possible,” Lakeisha said. “They helped me make the right decision for my career."
