Lorwib Liriano
“I’ve always been interested in being a positive force for youth development."
Growing up in the Dominican Republic and New York City, Lorwib Liriano appreciated the many resources Monroe offers within the community to help students succeed. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice with a minor in Human Services from Monroe in 2014. She then went on to earn a Master’s Degree in Social Work from Fordham University in 2018.
While at Monroe, Lorwib attended a job fair that led to an internship at Westhab Inc. This eventually resulted in a full-time position as a clinician at Westhab. After her time at Monroe, Lorwib worked as a bilingual clinician at Upper Manhattan Health, dedicated to making a difference in children’s lives. She also obtained her clinical license (LCSW) and is now a clinical supervisor and co-runs the MSW practicum program in outpatient treatment.
She has always been interested in being a positive force for youth development, aiming to use both degrees to help guide the younger generation onto a positive path. She advises new students to find someone they connect with and to ask questions, emphasizing that people are eager to help.
