“I’m grateful for the chance to study in the U.S. and hope to work here for several years before I go back to China.”
A native of Shanghai, Zhyang Shen finds New York to be a very similar city. She is grateful for the chance to study in the U.S. and hopes to work there for several years before returning to China.
Zhyang Shen graduated with a Master’s in Public Health degree, and found the Monroe professors to be very helpful in her academics. Her favorite class was Global Health, which has allowed her to research health problems in different countries, gather data, and make comparisons, which she finds very interesting.
In addition to her course load, Zhyang spent 20 hours a week at her internship at a clinic in Queens, where she worked as a Health Counselor, guiding patients to take charge of their health and commit to better health practices. Today, Zhyang works as an RN at the Fordham Nursing Home.
