Online Curriculum
As an online student, you might be learning remotely, but you’ll study with the same faculty as our on-campus students. Your professors will be seasoned professionals from throughout the hospitality industry, all of whom have mastered their trade in a world capital for dining, hospitality, and tourism: New York City.**

How Long Does It Take to Get an Associate Degree in Hospitality Management Online?
You can complete your AAS in Hospitality Management in less than a year and a half full-time — just four (4) semesters on our three-semester academic calendar.
Hospitality Management Degree Requirements:
60 total credits
- 30 credits of major-related courses
- 30 credits of general education and related courses
Monroe also offers a fully on-campus degree option, as well as a hybrid curriculum that combines the flexibility of remote learning with in-person classes.

The Online Module: Take 2 Courses in Just 7½ Weeks
If you’re not sure whether remote learning is right for you, Monroe University offers you the option to take it for a test drive. The module allows you to take just two (2) Hospitality Management courses online over an abridged 7½-week term. If you decide it’s right for you, you can continue for the full 15-week semester and put the credits you’ve already earned toward your degree.
Lodging Operations Management
It takes teams of specialized workers to keep a hotel running smoothly. From housekeeping to security to guest relations, each team has to work together seamlessly each and every day. To do that requires effective leadership with multi-departmental management skills. This course will explore the day-to-day needs of successful lodging operations, focusing on the management communication skills needed to keep staff and facilities synchronized — and to provide an excellent customer experience for every guest.
Admission Requirements
Applicants for the online Hospitality Management Associate Degree must meet the following general admissions requirements:
- Applicants must possess either a high school graduation credential or high school equivalency diploma, or a recognized college associate degree or higher as listed in the transfer admissions policy.
- Applicants must also submit a completed application for admission, as well as a personal statement or essay.
Applicants also participate in a pre-admission interview.
