As a Health Services Administration major, you’ll be required to take a for-credit internship. Health Services Administration students also have the option to take a medical coding specialization within their major, with elective courses that cover advanced medical coding (including ICD-CM and CPT coding), pathophysiology, and pharmacology.

How Long Does It Take to Get a Health Services Administration Bachelor’s Degree ?
You can finish your BBA in Health Services Administration in eight (8) semesters. Studying full time, that could be less than three (3) years on our three (3)-semester academic calendar.

- 60 credits of major-related courses (including a required internship)

Ethical and Legal Issues in Healthcare
Just like physicians, healthcare administration professionals are bound to a specific set of legal and ethical policies and regulations. In this course, students will learn about issues specific to the healthcare administrators including confidentiality, scope of practice, informed consent, defamation, reproductive issues, end-of-life care, and allocation of health care resources.
Admission Requirements
Applicants to the BBA in Health Services Administration must meet the following admissions requirements:
- Candidates must possess either a high school graduation credential or high school equivalency diploma, or a recognized college associate degree or higher as listed in the transfer admissions policy.
- Candidates must also submit a completed application for admission, as well as a personal statement or essay.
Applicants also participate in a pre-admission interview.

- Alpha Eta — Alpha Eta is the national honor society for the allied health professions. Health Services Administration students who demonstrate outstanding scholarship may be eligible to receive an $1000 honorarium to help them continue their research and coursework.
- The National Healthcareer Association (NHA) — Through NHA, students can earn their Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) credential, recommended (though not required) by the New York State Education Department. can also take the NHA also offers the Certified Billing and Coding Specialist (CBCS) exam for students in the medical coding track.
- Our Allied Health Club — The Allied Health Club is open to all students in the School of Allied Health Professions. Members across all majors work together to develop health education initiatives for both their fellow students and the surrounding community.
